Advocating for your child: This event features advocacy strategies for parents who have a child with a behavioural, neurodevelopmental, or mental challenge. Topics to be discussed include record keeping for advocacy purposes, navigating the health and education systems, finding other allies in the quest for better care, and staying strong.
This presentation is based on interviews with more than 50 parents who have walked this walk and who are eager to share their best advice with other parents. These interviews formed the basis for Ann’s latest book, Parenting Through the Storm: How to Handle The Highs, The Lows, and Everything In-Between. This is a free community event presented by Morneau Shepell’s Children’s Support Solutions. Registration details.
